Going into this film, you know it is going to be terrible. You expect it to be one of the worst films you will ever have to watch and a good question is why you would ever do so in the first place. So, what makes this a complete surprise is just how agreeable it actually is.
Asylum, the producers of all manner of garbage, rarely turn out anything that is any good and yet, this film managed to actually be something you might call watchable. It is a little bit shocking, but as the film moves on from beginning to end, it is actually fairly entertaining.
There are problems with it of course, namely the dialogue and some of the special effects. How could there not be with a production company who is notoriously cheap, but putting that aside, the story is decent and the acting is not all that bad and could have been better if the aforementioned script had been improved upon. Treat Williams is usually good in whatever he does, maybe not Oscar caliber, but good and Jillian Rose Reed from Awkward is always fun to watch and probably the best thing about the whole picture.
Some of the dinosaurs were decent looking, like the T-Rex and the Raptors, while others were not, and overall, they were probably some of the best computer generated effects that Asylum has ever put on film. Again, a little shocking to be sure, but they actually made the movie better than most of their films.
The film never won any awards and to be honest, you would never expect it to, but this Jurassic Park rip-off is not the worst thing you will ever see. It is for the most part quite enjoyable and should you sit through it, it is not a film you will actually regret seeing. Age of Dinosaurs may never be worthy of your time, but it will not be a waste of it.
