Some weeks on Big Brother, we pretty much know who is going to go home from the moment the HoH is crowned. Other times, we have no idea. This is one of those weeks. At first, Shelli and Liz had no idea who they were going to target this week-after all; their main opponents have already been eliminated. Then Audrey filled Shelli in on Jason’s plan to go after Shelli if he made it through the week-a complete lie, by the way-and thus, Jason became Shelli’s prime target. But she still wasn’t sure about the plan. Maybe that’s why she told Jason the truth about why he was put up. She let it slip that Audrey was the one who threw Jason’s name up, and thus began a week of crazy in the Big Brother house.
You see, Audrey is now angry with Shelli for throwing her under the bus. As if she didn’t deserve it! She lied about Jason, and Shelli and Jason both found out, so now she’s scrambling, trying to get sympathy from others because of what’s happened-by her own hand! And who does she go to first? James, of all people. Now, as far as I know, James has been gunning for Audrey since week two in the house, so I have no idea why she would go to him with her “concerns” about what happened. Especially since James and Jason are friends. Maybe he was the first person she came across. Anyway, she tells him that she feels hurt that Shelli talked to Jason about her, basically implying that Shelli was lying about everything. She also tells him about her concern about Shelli and Clay being a couple and her belief that they need to be split up.
Well, of course, James goes straight to Shelli with the news, hoping that if he tells her about this stuff when his back isn’t against the wall, hopefully it’ll earn him some points with her, and he won’t be put up next week if her side of the house comes into power again. Shelli’s been worried for days about whether she should continue to protect Audrey, and this news just further lowers her trust in her.
Clay tries to do some damage control and goes to talk to Audrey, who complains to him as well about Shelli throwing her under the bus. She’s so worried that Shelli will backdoor her, and that just seems to piss Clay off. She even asks him to swear on his life that Shelli won’t do it, and Clay just sputters, trying to tell her she’s being too paranoid. Meanwhile, in the HoH room, Shelli is, indeed, thinking of getting rid of Audrey. She’s protected her in this game for so long, but Audrey is just never content to let things ride. If she isn’t careful, she’ll end up manipulating herself right out the door.
When it comes time to pick players for the Veto competition, Jason is fairly happy with the outcome. Shelli picks Vanessa out of the box, and John picks Meg. Jason himself gets house guest’s choice, and of course, he picks James. So now half of the people playing in the competition could help him out if they win. Those are decent odds. James is definitely on board to help Jason out, figuring Jason will owe him a favour if he can take his friend off the block.
Shelli wants to know what’s going on in the rest of the house too. She talks to both Meg and James who both agree that they want to get rid of Audrey. Shelli’s pretty upset because she doesn’t want to betray someone she’s been loyal to since day one in the house, but Vanessa points out that they’ve given Audrey chance after chance to knock it off with the manipulation, and she can’t seem to stop herself. At some point, they just have to realize that she’s not going to change and let her go.
Continuing on with the 90’s theme, the veto competition is called Saved by the Smell. The players are in chemistry class, and they’ve got a large flask and several test tubes labeled with different colours. A monitor will display a series of colours and then ask them to pour a specific coloured test tube into their flask. For instance, it could flash red, blue, green, yellow, and then orange and then tell them to pour the third colour into the flask. If they’re wrong, they’re out.
James, sort of predictably, is out first. He’s not great with attention to detail competitions. Shelli doesn’t want to win, so she throws the challenge. And then Meg goes. Jason and John both fail the last round together, which leaves Vanessa as the winner! Exactly the way Shelli wants it to go down. They have control, but she herself doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting.
Meanwhile, throughout the week, John, Jason and Liz, the losers in the BoB challenge have been forced to form a boyband called the Whackstreet Boys, and must perform together whenever their pagers go off. At first, the rest of the house guests get a kick out of seeing these three perform the horribly choreographed routine, but like all punishments/challenges like this, before long, all interest fades away until their lone fan, Jackie, is left watching. Hilarious.
Meanwhile, the crap really hits the fan for Audrey. Clay and Austin are just hanging out and talking when Audrey works her way into the conversation and turns it into talk about game. She complains that everyone has a partner in the game, but she doesn’t have anyone in her corner, and that really pisses Clay off. He tells her that she’s had Shelli and the rest of them in her corner the whole time, but she’s so paranoid that she’s pushing everyone away by not trusting them. In other words, she’s been constantly biting the hands that have fed her over the past few weeks.
Well, Audrey is offended by everything that Clay is saying to her and starts to tear up. She denies not trusting everyone around her, and when Clay reminds her that she’d asked him to swear that Shelli wouldn’t backdoor her, Audrey denies that too. She says she vividly remembers not saying those words, so he must have just perceived what she said wrong. Well, if Clay wasn’t angry before, he is now. She’s basically calling him a liar to his face, and that doesn’t go over well with him. They argue for several more minutes before he gets up and walks away. And she blames the argument on his type A personality, completely denying that she’s to blame for any of it.
Clay goes straight up to the HoH room to vent to Shelli and Vanessa about everything that just transpired, and Audrey follows right on his heels. She asks Shelli to be the mediator. Shelli tells her straight out that over the past three weeks, Audrey should have been sitting pretty since Shelli and Vanessa have been in power, but she’s been so paranoid about being backdoored that she’s pretty much gone out of her way to make things harder on herself. Audrey then goes and tries to place the blame for everything on Clay, which he started the argument because of some issue that he’s got. She accuses him of cornering her, and that really sets him off. He tells her that she lied right to his face, and Audrey continues to deflect. Just as she did during the big argument with Da’Vonne a couple weeks ago, she accuses them of taking others’ words at higher value than hers. Clay agrees with her, because obviously they can’t trust a word that comes out of her mouth. Then he takes off.
And Audrey turns her attention to Vanessa. She calls Vanessa an amazing manipulator and brings up the thing with Jeff from last week. Vanessa tries to defend herself, but Audrey keeps going, mentioning something about her, Vanessa and Austin trying to come up with ways to get rid of Jeff. Whether this actually happened, I have no idea. I don’t remember reading or seeing anything about Audrey being in on these kinds of conversations, but Vanessa denies it wholeheartedly.
When the veto meeting comes around, Audrey is absent, so the rest of the house guests go on without her. Vanessa chooses to use the Power of Veto to remove Jason from the block, and Shelli puts Audrey up as a replacement. No one is shocked. No one is upset, except maybe Shelli, who had a hard time coming to this decision. At the moment, it seems like a lock. Audrey is going home. But who knows? Audrey’s said that she’s fought so hard because her back has been up against the wall the entire time they’ve been here (which is part of what has pissed the alliance off the most, since they’ve been actively trying to keep her safe), and now it actually is up against the wall. Will she fight now? Or will she lay down and take the eviction? Stay tuned for tomorrow’s episode!
Some extras:
Apparently Liz hates Jackie with a passion. She doesn’t really seem to have any reason to, but apparently she bad mouths Jackie to other alliance members all the time, always about her physical attributes. Apparently she made fun of Jackie’s eyelashes at one point. Jealous, perhaps?
According to people who watch the feeds, Audrey has been given medication to calm her down because of everything that’s gone on in the house this week. She also spent about 5 or 6 hours one day in the Diary Room, which is highly unusual. Apparently she’s also a Have Not, but she’s allowed to eat regular food without penalty. And the other house guests have also agreed that they wouldn’t harass or bully her while she’s in the house, so my guess is that they’re going to avoid her as much as possible. All this makes me wonder if there’s something truly wrong with her, or if it’s all just for show. She is really good at manipulating others, and she’s turned on the water works before. Either way, she’s proven that she’s not redeemable, so if the house guests are smart, they’ll oust her tomorrow night. We’ll see.

Rebecca… Great recap, in depth details. Do you ever come up with theories or strategies? I’d love if you incorporate a little more next time. Maybe a theory paragraph or somethibg? I’d like to know your thoughts on how a housemate can win. Or stay around longer. BB is a guilty pleasure of mine. I enjoy the strategy side a lot and would love to know more about what a fellow BB nerd thinks.
And that Audrey live feed stuff is shocking. She skipped out on Veto too. I’m not sure I like this treatment. I want her to stay. Her schemes and worrying are entertaining, but this sort of ruins the social experiment side. Example, slop alters moods thus affecting group dynamics. That said, I’m sure headache medicine or sleeping pills are allowed too. We just dont see footage. As far as psychological issues, perhaps her mood is altered by hormones or something. I don’t think it goes that far. I think she hates confrontation, or being isolated. As for her lies last night, I think she honestly forgot what she said in heat of the moment.
by the way.. I love the dentist. When he gets excited, his shaky goofy voice reminds me of Bobcat Goldwaith from Police Academy.

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely add some strategies and predictions in the posts. I honestly didn’t even think of it. Lol. But I’ll include it from now on, for sure.
The Audrey stuff was crazy. Apparently production gave her Ativan for her panic attack, and I guess she told Becky at one point that her problem this week was chemical, so I guess from the hormones. Not that I want to doubt her, but with all the lies she’s told this season, and the fact that she laid low after the Da’Vonne argument, I can’t help but wonder how much of this episode was fake and how much was real.
John is hilarious. I will fully admit that I hated him based on his profile, but now I just want him to win. And yes, he does sound like Bobcat. Lol.
