Issue by Issue – The Warlord #93

Warlord_Vol_1_93
A man named Gris rides as fast as he can to warn Morgan that a large force of men is heading towards Shamballah because if they should make it there, all of Morgan’s plans to retake the city would be for naught. So it is that they decide to head out and attack this larger group in the hopes that they can somehow rout them before they arrive at the gates. This issue was a lot of fun for even though it saw Travis and his men in battle for a bit, which is a pretty serious thing, it almost seemed like they were having fun doing so and laughing at the opposing force as well. One thing that is for sure is that the New Atlanteans will not take it lying down and Morgan can expect some sort of payback, though what form it will take remains to be seen. As the battle with the New Atlanteans finally seems to be making a little headway, Cary Burkett is making every issue just a little bit more exciting than the last. Not all of it features Travis Morgan either as his daughter Jennifer’s storyline is starting to ramp up too. In this issue she is still trying to figure out how to tap into the energies of the Evil One’s crystal while trying to keep Tinder out of trouble. It is here that she makes a big mistake by tasking Ashir to watch over the boy. You can see where things are leading after this and you know that it is only going to be tragedy when those events do take place. Watching it happen is a little surreal as you know what is coming and yet you simply have to wait it out. How this will affect what is going on with Morgan also remains to be seen but it should make for one exciting tale.
