Morgan, Krystovar, Shakira, Tara and Scarhart head off down into the bowels of New Atlantis in search of that mysterious cave where Travis found that strange silver cassette tape. The doing of it is not easy as they run into some New Atlanteans, some strange creatures and the tension on the ship being made palpable as Tara’s jealousy of Shakira is put on display for all. But make it they do and in that room Morgan had discovered with Krystovar many moons ago, he finds another cassette with this particular one having his name upon it. Cary Burkett and Dan Jurgens take our heroes and once again place them in jeopardy which is starting to be the status quo and is frankly, nice to see. For a while it was starting to seem like Morgan was an unbeatable force of nature and really, if you are going to create a barbarian type hero that is larger than life, you do not want him getting beat down in every situation. But every now and then, it is nice to see a hero lose as it really tests their character and offers something different from the norm, which is exactly what is going on as of late with the New Atlanteans and their superior forces. It is a little strange to see Tara fighting with Shakira as they never used to do so before, though that fact was also a little strange as you have a shape-changing cat who is always hanging around your husband in a fur bikini and Morgan having a reputation with the ladies. The tale might have been a short one, but Burkett manages to pack the issue full of action and excitement and leaves it off on a cliff-hanger promising more of the same.
