Roger Stern delivers up something of a hodgepodge issue with the sixty-seventh book of this series, but somehow it all manages to work and be fairly entertaining in the process. It begins with the Doctor looking in on Jessica Drew whom he lent a helping hand to earlier on, which then cuts to a little drama between Wong and Sarah. While it has not been much of a big deal previously, things seem to be brewing between the two, whether it is of a sexual nature or not and whether that attraction is felt by the both of them, remains to be seen. Stern then moves the book into the main part of the story which deals with the fallout from the recent Dracula caper where Doctor Strange rid the world of vampires with a little help from his friends and the Darkhold. There are some men that do not seem to know when to give up though and they are the last remnants of Dracula’s followers, Darkholders who seek to reintroduce vampires back to the world from an alternate dimension. It is brought to Strange’s attention by Hannibal King, former vampire and now a simple detective who cannot crack this particular case on his own. What is really nice to see is that despite the Tomb of Dracula title passing into history, Stern has brought these characters on board, which includes Blade and Frank Drake, and given them a bit of a home. They fit right in and giving Strange some more allies is always a good thing. With all of these men together, there is quite a bit of action present towards the end of the book and it is drawn quite well by Steve Leialoha who never misses a beat upon the page. Additionally, there is one further sub-plot which involves Clea, a woman that readers have not seen in quite some time and it still finds her leading a rebellion against Umar in the Dark Dimension. Re-introducing this element back into the book means that at some point, Strange and Clea are going to be running into each other again and when that happens, all bets are off as to what will go down. Will Morgana be present? Will Strange want to reunite with his former love and will Clea? This was a very solid issue that presents more than a couple of questions and just enough to make the next issue a must-buy.
