Footloose was successful for a number of reasons, one being Kenny Loggins who was instrumental in making Footloose the movie it was, namely the soundtrack and his contributions to it and particularly, its title theme. That is not to say that Kevin Bacon just stood on the sidelines, he played a big part too, but if there is one soundtrack that is as much a part of the film, as essential a component, it is Footloose. The film is still highly enjoyable to this day, but it is rarely shown on the various networks or cable channels anymore, if at all, while the songs and again, that title song, is still played on the radio depending on the station. There is more to love than just Loggins though as the soundtrack also features contributions from Bonnie Tyler with Holding Out For a Hero, Sammy Hagar, Moving Pictures and Deniece Williams with the incredibly catchy Let’s Hear It For The Boy. So if you want to take a trip back to the mid-80s or listen to some of the best songs of that decade, this is the soundtrack you’ll need to get you there. Great stuff!
