Iron Munro and Fireball are at Columbia University when he seems to get a strange premonition about Tigress dying. This leads to a conversation about Fireball’s incredible hate for the Nazis and essentially every German that walks the Earth. Author Roy Thomas then takes the time to delve into her origins, of her time in Poland and of how her entire family was killed by the Nazis with her being unable to do anything about it no matter how she tried. The book then cuts to St. Louis where Fury and Phantasmo are to safeguard some Plutonium when they are attacked by none other than Sumo and Baron Blitzkrieg. The battle is ferocious in nature, those on each side of the proverbial fence giving it their all for the Nazis cannot be allowed to get their hands on the plutonium while they are looking to do that as well as put the hurt on the All-Stars. Suffice it to say, just like in some of their most recent confrontations, the good guys are on the losing side as the villains have been well prepared and ready whereas the Young All-Stars have not. Back with Arn and Fireball, they two find themselves ambushed by Valkyrie and Ubermensch who have been looking to put the hurt on Iron Munro for some time. Arn takes a vicious beating and it is brutal to see just how bad and how easy it is for Ubermensch to destroy the young man, at least when taken by surprise. As for Fireball, she does not go down easy and puts up a very valiant effort against Valkyrie and yet, try as she might, when all is said and done, she falls short with the bad guys victorious yet again. Thomas and his partner in crime, Ron Harris have been doing a great job with the latest chapter of Atom and Evil! both in terms of story and artwork and it is great to see the villains of the piece get the upper hand, a necessity so that the team can reform and come back at them stronger than ever. At least one would hope so. Where this story is going though, one can only guess but it is quite exciting to read and it definitely makes the reader want to come back issue after issue to see it unfold.
