Batman Eternal finally comes around to featuring Spoiler, mostly Spoiler as the main with a little Batman, Catwoman and Bluebird on the side. This is the big one, the one where Spoiler reveals who is behind everything that has been going down in Gotham, but when people finally read who it is, they will immediately doubt what she says and thus at the end of this issue, will realize that the big mystery has yet to be solved and that another one has just started up. Now if one has not read the issue just yet, they might be wondering who Bluebird is and she is not a new character, having been in multiple issues before this. It is simply the codename that Harper Row now wants to be known as. She also happens to tweak her costume from what it looked like the last issue and gets herself quite a large gun to make up for the lack of training she has had in order to be a vigilante. There are some really good moments in the book between Harper and everybody and the issue was actually somewhat lighter in tone than many of the previous books, even injecting some humour which was nice to see and to smirk at. Catwoman still remains her mischievous self and her new role as the head of the criminal underground in Gotham, as well as the head of its sole illegal gambling parlour, has added another level of interest and fun to her character. She has always been the confidant woman but now, thanks to a little initiative, she is even more so and it has definitely made this title more exciting due to this new direction for her. New to the book is David LaFuente on pencils that look especially gorgeous and Batman Eternal clocks in as the winner for another round and does so without Batman – for the most part.
