Batgirl, Batwoman and the Red Hood are in Brazil to get the answers they need to solve the subway mystery and to find out who it was that framed Jim Gordon. The investigation takes them not only to a factory that employs children in the making of toys that resemble the Bat-family but to the man running it. Back in Gotham Lt. Bard is making his way into areas of the city that do not get a lot of representation from the cops when a couple of people, one who happens to be hurt, make their way into the sewers. Luckily Batman was keeping his eye on Bard and so the two of them team up and head into the underground labyrinth to find out just what is going on and eventually, also end up teaming with Killer Croc. To say this will not be an easy alliance is putting it lightly but when those who are innocent are on the line, Batman will do what he must. This was a decent issue with some great artwork by Andy Clarke. It is great to see Batgirl’s investigation proceeding but it has not really lead anywhere as of yet or made any headway at least during the issue. The banter between the three heroes was quite fun though and that would partly make up for the lack of anything really happening. Having Bard and Bats seemingly patch things up is good for Gotham and for them as well as the two will more than likely end up working together more likely than not, something that the writers of this series have been slowly been building towards. Also nice to see are some more classic villains making their appearance such as having Killer Croc in the issue and the villain not being his usual brutish self. Whether that remains the case going forward or if he reverts back to his more dastardly ways, one can only keep reading and see. While there might not have been much to chew on this issue, one can probably assume that there will be some more tangible story advancement in the next one.
