The book begins with Steve Trevor lying unconscious, the victim of Wonder Woman’s brazen attack though hurting him was never part of the plan. Despite seeming to have snapped out of the effects of the river that poisoned her, it is but a moment and she is back to her vicious ways with Fury, Northwind and Silver Scarab on the receiving end of them. The battle goes as expected with the Infinitors being unable to stop Wonder Woman from escaping and yet, they know they have to keep battling and so while Northwind stays behind to keep an eye on the trussed-up Hawkman, Scarab and Fury head off to see if this is all the Ultra-Humanite’s doing. Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway waste no time by moving on to the next few scenes where the Flash still lies in the hospital as Dr. Mid-Nite and one Mrs. Carter Hall show up. Not moments later, Green Lantern has taken over the airwaves on the television and declared himself the communications czar of the entire planet and the two decide that they have to get to the river that caused all of this, knowing the JSA members will be back due to its addictive qualities. The action continues with Nuklon and Wildcat going after The Atom who is looking to increase his strength through the application of Thorium. It is something they cannot allow and while Wildcat gets taken out of the game almost immediately, Nuklon still stands between The Atom and what he desires. Thomas writes a good tale, balancing all of the various plot threads and characters like a master-weaver and he definitely gives readers a lot of bang for their buck. As the book ends, the members of Infinity Inc. are no closer to stopping any of the rogue JSA members aside from Hawkman and even then, one has to know that he will continue playing a part in this tale somehow. Ordway who is joined by Mike Machlan and Tony DeZuniga does a solid job on the artwork, making the book look as good as ever while it flows from story to story. While the story has had its ups and downs, it will be nice to see it come to an end and have the Infinitors finally established as the team they are destined to be.
