Scion still leads the Micronauts despite them not liking it in the slightest and even then, there is nothing they can quite do about it as the man is power personified. There are a lot of things they do not care for when it comes to Scion, be it his demeanour or the way he does things, and when factoring in the mystery of Solitaire on top of it and the distress that Devil finds himself in, they have their hands more than full. Once again, Scion has decided to teach the Micronauts a lesson in pain and takes them on a diversion to yet another planet, one called Aegis. Arriving at said planet, they find it surrounded by junk, the relics of many races which the Micronauts find disheartening. Distressing Bug is the fact that he finds his people upon this planet, though they know nothing about the fate of Kaliklak as they are a different offshoot of his race. It is a sight to behold that Scion presents to them, the cast-offs a thousand different races all concentrated upon one little planet – a pain of sorts to regard indeed. The Micronauts learn of a menace from Bug’s people, one that they were unable to face and one which was responsible for driving them to Aegis and it saddens Bug to no end. Peter B. Gillis has been serving up despair on a regular basis to the Micronauts and while it has been slightly tiresome, readers have to know that he has a point in doing so and that it must be leading somewhere. Finally, Gillis and Kelley Jones have Scion once again attack his fellow Micronauts on the sly, pushing Bug’s evolution forward with the help of a Zodiac key. It is a direct assault if there ever were one, though the rest of the team including Bug have no idea that it was Scion at fault, but save Bug they try with Marionette being the key factor in doing so. Again, it does seem as if Gillis is leading up to something, the simple fact of the matter being that it is taking him a long time in getting there. At this point, it seems like ages ago that a mission was set out for the team, but actually completing it is another matter entirely. Additionally, there is a break in the story as it flashes back to Commander Rann, now with The Children and he is confronted by a revelation that could change things both for him and quite possibly for his former team.
