With the Micronauts having been separated in the last issue, Bill Mantlo and Gil Kane give readers two stories to follow in this book, the first starring Marionette, Acroyear and Bug who are indeed still alive, returned to the Microverse. The second features those that remain on Earth, that being Commander Rann, Devil, Microtron and Nanotron. As for the former, while they were thought killed, they merely shrunk back down to their original size, reaching the Microverse in a way that was a little unorthodox in nature, but one that worked anyway. They witness the engagement of Force Commander and the Lady Slug and while they know something has to be up for that to actually take place, proving it is going to take a bit of time. Soon they are hunted and it is only thanks to the Rebellion that they are not caught. When it comes to the Micronauts that remain on Earth, as they helped the Wasp out previously, she, in turn, has brought them to the Avengers so that they might do so in turn. So it is that they return to H.E.L.L. – the Human Engineering Life Laboratories in Florida where they had some of their first adventures on the planet, in order to return home. Mantlo does not make it all that easy on the heroes though as they soon run into an old foe, one whom they thought dead, but who is very much alive. By all accounts, it looks like Computrex and he has not forgotten what the Micronauts did to him and if he can return the favour by killing them now, then that is exactly what he is going to do. Not only do the Micronauts face the entire lab come to life, but the corpse of Phillip Prometheus, half-roboid and half rotting flesh as he too was dead, but now is animated thanks to Computrex that he might exact his revenge upon the diminutive companions. Kane’s artwork is as incredible as ever and both stories ended up being a lot of fun, packed with both action, drama and more than a little tension as the two teams are now under what some would call a fair amount of stress. One can see that Mantlo and company are bringing everything together for a confrontation with Argon and one can also see that when it finally comes, it will be good.
