The last weekend in August of 2017 would be home to the Reading and Leeds festival and it would feature an incredible amount of great music, but would also mark the triumphant return of Liam Gallagher, sans Oasis and sans Beady Eye, to the stage and was by all accounts, an excellent performance. Though it might have been Muse and Kasabian and Eminem that headlined, more often than not, it was Liam that people were talking about and that would indeed be a magnificent feat for someone who had been off the collective radar of fans for quite some time. Be that as it may, the festival would feature those aforementioned bands who would slaughter it in their headline slots as well as feature a ton of great bands including Bastille, Neck Deep, Jagwar Ma, Oh Wonder, Ash, Charli XCX, You Me At Six, Glass Animals, Mura Masa, Circa Waves, Blossoms, Korn, Haim and too many more to count. There were even a few surprise moments in store for the crowd such as cameos from Stormzy and Skepta, Brian Johnson, Drake during Giggs’ show and even a couple of full sets from Wolf Alice and Queens of the Stone Age. It was definitely a weekend to remember for those that were there and begs the question as to what they can do to top it the next year.
