Song of the Day: Duncan Lloyd – Heads Of The Bastille

Within every great band and behind every great lead singer are those who propel them onwards with their instruments and such is guitarist Duncan Lloyd who steps out on his own from Maximo Park with a solo album called I O U O M E. The first track to be released is the reflective Heads of The Bastille about a love that is no longer present, yet is framed amongst an indie pop melody that makes it seem a little more joyous than it might be. Despite that, it works perfectly for no matter if the love should be fading, the memories remain and that upbeat is representative of a possible future, brighter in nature. Essentially, if the rest of the album is as good as this song, it is definitely worth picking up.
