The Purple One may no longer be with us, but he leaves behind a legacy of music that many have found enjoyment in for the past few decades and will continue to do so for decades to come. The man was a gifted songwriter, guitar player and performer and if you ever had the chance to see him, could put on a very amazing show. He gave the world a catalogue of hits over the life of his sometimes controversial career like Little Red Corvette, Kiss and Purple Rain to name a few, and they have been covered by everyone from Tom Jones to Corey Taylor of Slipknot. The man was influential to say the least and it is a shame that his voice, at least in one respect, has been silenced. The only good thing to come out of the tragedy of his passing is the spotlight once again being directed upon the man and his work and the incredible music that he made, incredible being only one of many things that his music was.
