The strangest things have been happening in Skartaris of late and all of them aimed at disparaging the Warlord’s good name. Add to that fact that Shamballah is getting dragged into the mess that is affecting Travis Morgan and that Tara has been missing for quite some time now and things could not really get any worse unless they were to find themselves in a full-on war that is, or if Tara were to turn up dead. Morgan has no idea what to make of it and he is getting a little tired of putting fires out without knowing what the cause of it is. Michael Fleisher continues to pour troubles upon our hero with every passing issue with little resolution in sight, though by the story’s end, it does just that. While Morgan might have it bad at the moment, there are others that have it just as so including Jennifer and her new friend Power Girl who are trying to fight off a demon and the CIA agent who has been transformed into a Yeti-like creature though in the case of the former, you cannot feel too bad for him as he is not the nicest of people. The person who might have it worst of all though is Tara, who has been a prisoner of Y’Smalla for quite some time now, enduring who knows what horrors as well as the sexual advances of the guards. Though we know at this point why she is a prisoner, all of it thanks to Desaad, we still have yet to see a confrontation between him and the Warlord and even when that does eventually take place, you have to wonder just how it is that Morgan is going to come out on top of that one. The story was a little bit choppy this time – the transitions from one plotline to the next being a little uneven, but on the whole, the book was still enjoyable and featured a fair amount of action with good artwork from Art Thibert.
