Two things of note happen in this issue by Michael Fleisher and Ron Randall, the first being the fact that Morgan has finally met with the wizard whom he hopes will save his daughter Jennifer from the aging spell that is ravaging her. Additionally, this issue crosses over with DC’s latest event at the time called Legends, and it sees Desaad wreaking havoc in Skartaris disguised as Travis Morgan. The plot that was mentioned first was the best part of the book because it finally saw some real movement of the storyline which had been running for fourteen issues going as of this book. The worst part was the fact that Desaad of all people had nothing better to do than cause mayhem and murder amongst a society that essentially has nothing to do with the rest of the Earth, much less Apokolips. Still, silly or not, it looks like that particular story will continue into the next issue where at some point you have to expect that Morgan will face off against the man. What would be really great to see is the culmination of the past fourteen issues finally coming to fruition and the end of the story involving the aging spell. It is hard to even think of a story that has ever run on as long as this one has, except for previous Warlord tales that is, and as such, seeing our hero finally move on to other adventures will be the best thing to happen to this book in a long time. What will be most interesting to see is just how our hero and his allies deal with all of the recent entanglements of late. Will Mariah go back to Machiste? Will Machiste even take her back? Will Tara forgive Morgan or will this be the final straw? There are a lot of questions that still need answering and you have to wonder if they will all remain friends at the end of the day or if this is finally it.
