Jerry Butler is a name you might not hear about too often these days but his contribution to music was significant if only for giving us Only the Strong Survive and For Your Precious Love, recorded with his group, The Impressions when he led the band and featured Curtis Mayfield among its members. On top of that though, the man has been recording and touring for over forty years and there are not too many people that can lay claim to having such a long and storied career. The man is a legend and thankfully, his body of work will live on for generations to come.
