Big Brother: Two for the Price of One

I think the question on most people’s minds since Thursday has been what the hell are Austin and Vanessa going to do with their HoH time? Who will they target? Well, once Julia confirms to Vanessa that she is, in fact, a twin, things seem to solidify quickly. Vanessa and Julia agree that they need to work together, and in a very short amount of time, Julia and Liz have practically a whole army surrounding them, ready to fight to keep them around.

The first people that Vanessa tells about the twin thing are Clay and Shelli, before Thursday’s eviction. I was super nervous watching this as I was afraid Clay and Shelli would end up selling Liz and Vanessa out the moment they got the chance. Thankfully, I was wrong. Shelli and Clay both want to work with Liz, Vanessa, Austin, and, if she makes it past three more evictions, Julia. By having Julia as part of their alliance means that they’ll have one more vote on their side.

Vanessa then goes to talk to Austin…and he had absolutely no idea about the twins. He looks absolutely shocked by the news, and for a second, I thought maybe he might be hurt that Liz didn’t go to him with her news considering the two of them are really close. For the second time, I’m glad I was wrong. He’s definitely on board and is now even more committed to saving both girls from eviction.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the house, everyone is nervous. None of the other players have really worked with either Austin or Vanessa before, so they’re all potential targets, and they know it. No one knows where they stand. Everyone, of course, thinks the obvious choice of target is Audrey since no one can trust her, but Austin and Vanessa have a better plan. Austin wants to keep Audrey in the game, because as long as she’s in the house, she’s a bigger threat than him. Vanessa wants to go after Jeff, Jason, or James this week, since she doesn’t trust any of them and really doesn’t like James.

So of course Jeff has to paint a giant target on his back by being a complete moron. He’s talking with John and James and a few other people about the twin twist when John mentions the fact that one of them looks like she’s got a crown on one tooth and the other one doesn’t. First of all, Jeff takes this to mean there’s only one person instead of two. Sigh. But when they finally make him understand that they think there are two women, Jeff immediately goes to Austin to let him in on the conspiracy.

Austin, being the relatively smart guy he is, plays dumb with Jeff. He makes it seem like he believes what Jeff is saying and agrees when Jeff suggests they use this information to their advantage. To prove he’s even more clueless, he tells Austin that he thinks that they’ve each got the attention of one of the twins. They both trust Austin, yes. I haven’t seen any evidence that either of them have even talked to Jeff. Please comment and correct me if I’m wrong.

So now the plan as far as I can tell is to backdoor Jeff. He’s pushing too hard at the Liz thing, and they need to protect her. Vanessa tells Liz that everyone has noticed that she’s heavier than Julia, so she’s got to lose a bit of weight and Julia needs to gain some. They need to do everything they can to make sure the rest of the house thinks there’s only one person.

The rest of their plan is to gather up the pawns again. Vanessa says if the six of them can keep control, they’ve got a 90% chance of making it to the top six. The best way to do this is for Vanessa to stay in control this week, since Austin has a better relationship with the rest of the house. The next step is to once again convince John to be put up on the block and then throw the challenge. This poor guy. Three weeks in a row and he’s a pawn again. He agrees to do it, because what else can he do? At least this time around, he gets a little something out of it. Vanessa assures him that if he does this for them, he’ll be safe until the Jury starts. It’s definitely a better deal than the one he got last week.

So the nomination ceremony comes around, and Austin nominates Meg and Jason as pawns and Vanessa nominates James and John. Jason, Meg, and James are all understandably pissed. John is angry that this week, his name was called second instead of first. I love this guy. I will fully admit that I was completely wrong about him. I’ve been told by other fans who watch the feeds that he is playing the best game out of everyone in the house. Everyone loves him, he’s on nobody’s actual radar, and he spends most of his time listening to others shoot off their big mouths, so he’s got a lot of information.

Austin takes Meg and Jason aside and assures them that Audrey is still the target, but they don’t believe him. In the Diary Room, Meg says that the chances of her and Jason winning a challenge is slim, unless it’s bedazzling or cooking a frittata, and it turns out they are in luck! The challenged-named Gronk’s Amazing Foam Party-requires the house guests to pick an item from the lost and found and then enter a maze disguised as a foam party and match the item to something a party goer is wearing based on the pattern, and then bring them out of the party to their VIP area. The first team to get ten people in their VIP area wins.

Well, if there was ever a challenged suited for “a gay man and a New York hipster chick” as Jason says, this is it. James and John manage to keep up with them for the first two people, but then James completely loses his mind. He admits that the only pattern he knows is camo, and thus in the time it takes him to find one party guest, Meg and Jason find seven more. Meg goes in one more time and quickly finds her last guest, winning them the challenge. Austin is dethroned, Vanessa stays HoH, and once again, John manages to throw a challenge without even having to do anything.

So it looks like all is good in the Big Brother house-for the members of Sixth Sense, as they named themselves. Will they be able to follow through and oust their target? We’ll soon find out!
