After the stunning revelation from last issue that Tara is to wed Morgan’s friend Aram Al Ashir, and to thereby unite their kingdoms, Morgan to say the least, is a little beside himself. When some assassins burst onto the scene though, Travis is all action and out to protect the woman he considers his at all costs. After all is said and done though, Tara pretends not to know him, so things do not become muddied up with what she has to do. Soon the motivations behind the assassins, as well as who is behind them come to light and while Tara may still love Morgan, he completely infuriates her and thus refuses to wed Al Ashir or be with Morgan. Grell picks things right back up in this issue, delivering a very solid tale involving our intrepid hero. It was great to see Tara finally come back into the picture, just as strong-willed as ever and not putting up with Morgan’s shenanigans. Also nice to see was the first meeting between Shakira and Tara and the little bit of jealousy that surged up in-between them. Of course, all things sort of worked out in the end, but there was a nice little twist that should keep things quite interesting. The book also featured another Wizard World backup story with Mariah and Machiste which was entertaining, but having them appear back in their own time with Morgan, Tara and the rest of our regular players would be much more preferable. A better issue than many have been as of late.
