Issue by Issue – Moon Knight Volume 1 #16

Absent this issue are the regular creative team of Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz and instead we are presented with two tales, the first by Jack C. Harras and Denys Cowan and the second by Jack C. Harras and Jimmy James.  The first story was by far the better one, but on the whole, both were fairly average, not being terrible nor overly good either.  Moon Knight decides to look into a case involving the death of a police officer at the insistence of the man’s son who contacted MK through Ben Grimm.  He finds out that it is connected to a crime he stopped earlier on and must stop a man named Blacksmith and a nuclear bomb from going off in the city.  The second story dealt with our hero before he was a hero and simply a man named Marc Spector, mercenary for hire.  The tale deals with Spector having to retrieve Medusa’s head for a crook with the end delivery not going exactly as planned.  Harras does a fine job scripting as do our artists and their penciling, but the issue was just kind of bland without Moench working his magic.
