Morgan, Tara, Mariah, Machiste and the forces they have amassed along the way, finally reach the rim of Skartaris and the castle belonging to Deimos. Having learned his lesson previously, Deimos is ready for them and nearly kills the entire force. Morgan, in trying to reach the castle, has managed to get himself trapped inside, separated from the rest of his friends and comes face to face with the man himself. But it is not Deimos Morgan will be facing, it will be the very person he came to rescue, his son, prematurely grown into a man by his nemesis. This seemingly penultimate issue to Morgan’s latest quest might have played a bit better for shock value when it was first published, but for today’s audience who have become so jaded with the plethora of science-fiction, horror and violence that is received on a daily basis, it ends up being a little tame. Instead what happens is an emotional reaction a little different than what was expected, and you feel pity and you feel bad for Morgan and what he has gone through to this point and what Deimos is going to make him do. Aside from that, there is also get a lot of action heading up to the finale which gives the book a quick pace when reading and it is over a lot sooner than you would have liked. The upcoming battle should be a good one.
