As Deimos ruminates in his castle aloud, for all good villains do so, both to himself and his companion, he notices Morgan and Tara travelling along on some type of land-speeders (?) they picked up from somewhere. So, being Deimos and completely evil, he casts a spell to make them crash and then has a glass of refreshing blood. Mike Grell, our illustrious illustrator and wondrous writer then has our heroes attacked by a man named Torgash and a group of men. So after some battling and a trip to a pit full of bears, Mariah and Machiste re-enter the picture. As per usual, Grell does a great job of balancing the drama and the action against each other with the only downside of the book not being as exciting as many of the previous issues. Not really a bad thing, but not every book can top the one previous to it. Machiste and Maria bring added depth to the book and make a nice dynamic being with Morgan, so their re-introduction was a welcome one. It still remains to be seen just what it is that Deimos has in store for Morgan’s child aside from having the son kill the father. It can be assured, that it will be nothing pleasant.
