Mayhem in the Mile-High City concludes the tale told in the previous issue with our heroes down in Mexico to stop an alliance between the Nazis and the Feathered Serpent.  Things are going rough though as Hawkman and the Shining Knight have been captured and are being forced to watch as Shiera Saunders is about to be sacrificed.  This of course is the perfect time for the Feathered Serpent to recount his origin to the annoyance of his partners in the Reich who interrupt him and basically tell him to get on with it.  Definitely a humourous little bit by scribe Roy Thomas that breaks up the tension of the moment.  As the recitation takes place, our captives manage to free themselves and start to take out the evil-doers, but not before the Serpent sacrifices one of the Germans which is only the start of things going from bad to worse.  Once again, Thomas and Jerry Ordway provide us with an issue packed with action from cover to cover.  Funny enough, there is no penciller listed for this issue, merely Ordway as the Inker/Embellisher.  A little strange, for sure.  Also this issue, Hawkgirl is introduced and is a little saddened to overhear of things that Carter should have mentioned to her before this point, such as enlisting. It looks as well like the Nazis have more than one ace up their sleeve with the book ending on the appearance of Baron Blitzkrieg.  Next issue we will hopefully find out if our heroes remain committed to enlisting or if they will remain on the team in the All-Star Squadron.
