Issue by Issue – Moon Knight Volume 1 #2

Doug Moench serves up a nice little done in one tale about the homeless and a serial killer who is hunting for something by hunting them.  It is a dark and moody story aided by the spectacular pencils of Bill Sienkiewicz whose style is perfect for the sordidness that takes place within this book.  While it might seem overly wordy when compared to some of today’s books, Moench uses every one to set the scene and the darkness within while the characters come into focus more, making sure none of those phrases are wasted.  It seems incredibly hard for a man to juggle four identities, even though Spector makes it seem easy, and in this issue he actually places his confidence into some of the supporting cast members, which is very different than what the average superhero would normally do.  There is one incredulous moment in the book which holds it back from being perfect, but for being only the second issue, it is still pretty good.

  1. I hated this character in Marvel Lego. Unlocked him and the dude only had one move. He does look cool however, and it is great to see his comic scores some high reviews in your books.
