The Sea Devils are out and about when an underwater earthquake strikes and frees up a sunken U-boat that unwittingly fires its missiles with all of the jostling. Thankfully the team is near so they head out to take care of the problem and round up all the missiles before they can cause any damage. When it comes to Dane though, he sees the impossible, a monster about to attack. The missile that he is in charge of rounding up goes off and the creature disappears. Explaining it to his teammates finds them in disbelief as they saw nothing, almost as much disbelief as he is in and yet, he cannot be dissuaded from thinking it was real. The next day they respond to an S.O.S. about a schooner about to sink and as they rescue the ship, Dane once again sees something that nobody else does. He believes himself to be going mad on one level as does the rest of the team but he knows that they were real or at least his brain thinks they were. As time passes, it continues to happen and it gets to a point where his friends want to commit him so he can get a little ‘rest’. Dane knows exactly what that means and so takes off, hoping to discover what exactly is going on and as it turns out while he is helping an old man out, aliens are behind it all. Crafting a very fun tale is Arnold Drake who finds himself on the writing side of things for this issue and he is joined by Howard Purcell and Sheldon Moldoff who make it all come to life in the very best of ways. Much like every story before this, the book is filled with the fantastical even if they are hallucinations. Monsters and aliens and all sorts of strange beings fill the pages and readers are treated to both drama and excitement courtesy of the creators of this title. As everything moves towards its conclusion, Dane who has been working by himself is finally able to convince the rest of the Devils that he is in fact sane and that the aliens are real. All that remains now is defeating them before they can construct a mass hypnosis ray to conquer the Earth. Like every book that had come before, Drake and company give readers a happy ending and the planet is safe thanks to their heroics once again. From start to finish, this was a very enjoyable issue that featured the team doing what they do best.
