When he sleeps, Travis Morgan is tormented by visions of Tara, dreams that will not stop and refuse to let him go. Awake, Travis is plagued by guilt and longing over the woman he loves, a woman he believes to be dead and not knowing that in another part of Skartaris, his daughter Jennifer holds Tara in suspended animation until she can be revived safely. Aoiffe worries about Travis, partly due to empathy, but partly due to the attraction she feels as well. The two are soon on their quest once again to the Tormaline Sea and it is then that Michael Fleisher, Jan Duursema and Tom Mandrake do the unthinkable to Morgan once again, making things just a little bit worse than they already were. Shakira makes an appearance this issue as does Jennifer who is trying to figure out a way to defeat the newly-risen Khnathaiti before she can cause anymore death and destruction. Fleisher also finally brings his two main plots to a head when Morgan runs into Mariah and of course, into Maddox whom he had met a long time previous and to which, Maddox is holding a grudge against our hero. What is most interesting about everything that happens within this issue is just how well that Maddox is getting the hang of the strange ship and how accustomed to the feeling of power he gets by the villagers who now worship and serve him. It makes for a very lethal combination when a madman comes into that which makes him stronger and now it looks like Morgan is going to have to face him next issue. With this story, Mariah also finally realizes that she might have made a mistake in hooking up with Maddox and now, if things come to a head, she has to hope that Morgan will come out on top.
