Well, Clay and Shelli will finally be split up this week, but the question is, who will be the one to go home? Though both have said that they’re not going to campaign against each other, it’s pretty clear who is fighting harder to stay in the game. Although James wants Shelli out of the house, his mission may not go as planned, because while Clay seems to be content to leave the game, Shelli is definitely still working hard to stay in the house.
It’s hard to say who is going home though. Non Sixth Sensers want Shelli out, but Vanessa wants to keep her. The rest of the alliance seems torn. One of the twins hates Clay. The other one (I honestly don’t know which) thinks they should evict Shelli, as she’s the better player. And when James goes to Austin about everything that Clelli had said about him the other day, they’re even less sure about what to do. Austin tells the rest of the alliance about the little bit of information that James told him and assumes that Shelli and Clay had told him about the alliance, though James had never told him that. It’s enough to make the alliance concerned. Though Austin is fully on Liz’s side (and therefore Julia’s as well, for now), he also wants to protect Vanessa, so he needs to make sure that she knows what Clelli are up to. Shelli “sets Vanessa straight” when she goes to her with what she knows about the conversation with James, telling her that James had her backed up against a wall and screwed her over.
I’m starting to wonder if this girl even knows how to tell the truth anymore. Everyone was so angry with Audrey for constantly lying, yet Shelli seems to be lying just as much. She’s just been more convincing with her lies for the most part. Everyone in the alliance falls for her story, making them all even more determined to stick with each other. Sigh.
In between campaigning to stay in the house-though it’s not much of a campaign when her block mate wants to go home-Shelli and Clay have taken things to the next level with a make out session in the back yard. Not cool, guys. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t think kissing should be that loud, with all the lip smacking and sucking sounds. Ugh. I was definitely glad when Liz/Julia came outside and interrupted them.
Meanwhile, just about everyone else in the house talk together about who they’re going to evict. James is adamant that Shelli go home. She’s a better player than Clay, and who wants to play with an extremely wrathful woman? Not James. He knows that she’ll fight harder to win than Clay will. Jackie agrees with him, but Vanessa looks shocked by what they’re saying. I’m not sure what she’s so surprised about. Maybe she’s just not used to people voicing opinions different from hers? I have heard that she’s particularly anxious when it comes to voting. She’ll talk game for hours to anyone who will listen, and she apparently will grill people on who they’re voting for, especially when she’s in charge. Sounds exhausting. Anyway, Vanessa questions just about every one of James’s reasons for evicting Shelli. Clay wants to go home, so why not send him home first and then evict Shelli next week (which obviously won’t happen anyway, unless Meg or Jackie wins HoH)?
This makes Jackie start to wonder about Vanessa. Up until now, they’ve sort of trusted Vanessa because they’ve blamed Shelli and Clay for Jason going home. Now though, it’s obvious to Jackie that Vanessa questioning James like this means that Vanessa isn’t planning on sending Shelli home, and that makes Vanessa sketchy. She doesn’t trust Vanessa or Austin, so she’s got to keep an eye on them.
But now we take a break from game play to talk to the Hitmen, last year’s winner and runner up. I think it’s great to see that Derrick and Cody are apparently still really close friends who see each other relatively often. Both boys are in James’s corner, and they love that he nominated Clelli after agreeing not to do it. He’s not afraid to play the game, and they like that. They also can’t believe these guys who are willing to throw away a chance at $500 000 for a woman. I’m right there with them. These guys are nuts. I understand that these two have grown really close to each other over the past couple months, but close enough to throw that kind of money away? I don’t get it.
At the eviction ceremony, Clay mushes over Shelli and then tells everyone to vote him out. Shelli talks about her excitement over their first date. She’s excited to have a relationship outside the house. Then Clay is unanimously voted out of the house, and he’s out the door, only hugging Shelli along the way. He tells Julie that what he and Shelli have is the real deal. This was her dream, and he didn’t want to take it away from her. He doesn’t really give an answer when Julie asks if he loves her. Sketchy, man. Sketchy, because I’m pretty sure that Shelli wouldn’t hesitate at all to say she loved him, but he can’t say it about her. Interesting.
The HoH comp, titled Midway Mayhem, is the “slide across the floor and pour the tiny amount of liquid into the giant bowl” competition. This time around, they have to fill their tiny funnel with gas and then slide across the floor and dump it into the tank. First one to grab the HoH ball wins. Julie tells them that they can either go for the HoH title, $5000, or to never be a have not again. Apparently it’s possible to get all three, but the game ends as soon as the HoH ball is fished out. From the get go, Meg doesn’t appear to have a chance. She’s extremely slow, and in this case, I don’t think slow and steady will win the race.
Becky, on the other hand, is doing well, and that scares me. If anyone from the sixth sense wins, James is in trouble. If Jackie or Meg win, Shelli and Austin and maybe even Vanessa could go up on the block. But if Becky, John, or Steve win, who knows what could happen. Becky could very likely work with Shelli since she still seems to feel some sort of loyalty to her for some reason. Steve and Vanessa apparently have a super-secret alliance, so he’d probably go after James too, unfortunately. So here’s hoping Jackie can pull this one off!
What do you guys think? Who do you think will win the HoH competition? Who do you want to win it? Leave me a message below!

Loving these reviews, Rebecca. I think your spot on about the Clay and Shelli relationship. I suppose Clay didn’t want to campaign against her and that’s that. Doesn’t seem like Shelli had a problem pimping her assets though… by that I mean gameplay 😉
This comp is always interesting. You’re right, whoever wins, lines will be drawn in the sand. I hope one of The Outsiders wins, like Becky, just to shift the dynamics and make the outcome less predictable. Overall, I’m rooting for the Austin, Twins, and Vanessa team. I hope whoever wins this comp, joins them. At this point, Shelli is a one week shield, that everyone will be aiming for.

I personally think Clay was an idiot to give up the game for her, but the rest of them were just as dumb for actually keeping her. They were totally right when they said that she’d fight harder than he would, and I just hope they haven’t screwed themselves by voting Clay out.
I’m afraid of what will happy if Becky wins the comp. She’s such a wild card because of her inexplicable loyalty to Shelli, and she’ll probably be even more loyal to her now because she feels bad that Clay was voted out. I think the only hope James has of his side keeping power is if Jackie can pull it off, because Meg clearly isn’t going to win. If anyone from the Sixth Sense wins, James is screwed.
