Big Brother: Audrey’s Last Stand–Er, Have Not Hideaway‏

blanket
After last night’s episode, we knew how tonight would go. Tonight was all about Audrey. After she opted out of the Veto meeting, everyone in the house and at home wondered whether she would even bother to come to the eviction ceremony-or if she’d even last that long. After four plus hours in the Diary Room, some of the house guests wondered if she’d just up and left the game. Steve says he’s got nothing against her as a person, unless she walks out, because there are so many people who would kill to be on the show, and she’d just be throwing it away. Austin thinks similarly, and I can definitely understand that. Thousands of people apply for the show every year, and yet Audrey isolates herself from the rest of the house when she could be making the most of her last few days there.

Vanessa thinks that Audrey is having a meltdown, and I think she’s pretty spot-on. Apparently the reason she was in the DR for so long was because she was having a massive panic attack, for which they gave her Ativan. When she wasn’t in the Diary Room, she was bundled up by herself in the Have Not room, completely apart from the rest of the house guests. And that’s where she stayed for about two days or so. The rest of the house guests started to worry about her, enough that some of them even brought her food (apparently Production also gave her pizza when she was in the DR, in order to take the meds).

But she did manage to make it to the Eviction Ceremony, and she looks beautiful to boot. Either she’s feeling much better, or she’s putting on an amazing brave face. Or, the past few days were a ruse to gain sympathy from her fellow house guests. I’m not sure which it is. After all, after her argument with Da’Vonne a few weeks ago, she laid low then too. With all the lies she’s told in the house, I don’t think it’s possible to know for sure what was real and what wasn’t. It may be harsh, but it’s true.

On a lighter note, the Whackstreet Boys received a tweet from BSB! Apparently they loved their moves. Amazing. I love those guys.

We get to meet Audrey’s family, and they’re great and super supportive. If you were looking to hear them say anything negative about how crazy she’s been, you’d be disappointed. They knew that she’d stir the pot and play hard, but they do admit that she couldn’t win with no one on her side, and I can’t decide whether or not they were admitting that she pushed people away.

Anyway, it’s time to vote! Audrey gets one penalty vote for eating real food as a Have Not, and after a brief speech by both her and John (where it’s clear to both who is going home), the house guests get to voting. Not surprisingly, everyone votes to send Audrey home. Everyone, that is, except Austin. I’ve heard that he was planning to vote this way and then blame the vote on Steve. Poor Steve, especially since he and Austin have a super-secret alliance. So secret, apparently, that Austin feels it’s alright to throw his partner under the bus! But hey, it’s cool, because he’s just trying to keep suspicion off of them. Wink wink.

Usually when a house guest gets evicted, the other house guests stand up to hug the evictee on their way out the door. This time though, they all very clearly hesitate. Audrey waits a few seconds, and then, when it’s clear that no one else is going to make the first move, she stands up and walks past them all toward the front door. Shelli and Vanessa go in for a hug just before she leaves the house. Awkward. As much as Audrey has driven me nuts in the house, I felt really bad for her in that instant.

During her interview with Julie, she says she was surprised by the warm response from the house guests to her being transgender. She also thinks that Vanessa was justified in voting her out, but not Shelli and Clay. She mentioned going to Vanessa about something, and Vanessa took it straight to Shelli and Clay. I’m struggling to figure out what she’s talking about, but I’ve got nothing. Maybe she was trying to tell Vanessa they need to split up Clay and Shelli the way she told James? I have no idea. If I find out, I’ll let you know.

But for now, on to the HoH competition! This is another one that’s played every year, but this year it’s called Pop Till You Drop. Players go head to head and listen to a pop song describing a previous challenge and then they have to determine whether said song described an HoH, BoB, or Veto competition. Pretty straight forward it seems, though a couple of the challenges got more than one song because there just hasn’t been a whole lot of them yet. I swear this game usually gets played a little later in the game. Anyway, Jackie and Vanessa won. Jackie! I know, right? I actually cheered when she won. She killed it.

Julie also had a little sit down with Britney Haynes from BB 12 and 14 to find out what she thinks of the show this year. Apparently she’s obsessed, like a lot of us, and like a lot of us, she finds this season much more interesting than the past couple. She says she loves John and Jason, and she thinks that Vanessa is playing a great game. She thinks that it will be either Vanessa, Shelli, or Clay who will win.

My own predictions? I do think Shelli and Vanessa have a good chance to win if they keep winning HoH. Shelli seems to be more likable than Vanessa, but Van is a smart player. Just ask her. She’s apparently got final two deals with just about everyone in the house, so as long as this news doesn’t get around to everyone, she could be on her way to the final two.

As for how this week is going to go with Vanessa and Jackie being HoH? I’m so happy that Jackie made it, so that the HoH room won’t be entirely filled with Sixth Sense members, but Vanessa is probably the worst person she could be paired with. Vanessa is extremely manipulative and persuasive, so I could definitely see her completely running Jackie’s HoH. It all depends on how much backbone Jackie really does have. Apparently at one point, Vanessa offered Jackie some sort of deal, and Jackie turned it down, so it gives me hope that she can hold her own, but I don’t know. I just really hope that Jackie can pull this one off and get rid of someone in the Sixth Sense. Just maybe not Liz, because I want to see Julia enter the house. There’s talk that Austin might be a target because I guess he confirmed the twin thing to Jason. I don’t know how much he told him, but I guess the other alliance members aren’t happy.

I could see Jackie nominating Austin and Steve, but I have no idea who Vanessa will nominate. I don’t know if she made a deal with Jason when she took him off the block. All I know is that John had better NOT be nominated again. Poor guy. I guess we’ll just have to wait until Sunday to find out!

  1. I am glad Audrey is out. To me, that overlong family bit was just an attempt to make her exit and time spent in the house seem more amazing and good-natured than it actually was.

Surprised that Jackie won! She’s been coming on strong in the past few days, and maybe there is more fight to her than anticipated. I’d like to see Steve start making his presence known, but I feel like he is just destined to do nothing. He may get far, but will have no shot at winning.

  2. So glad Audrey is out. I honestly had trouble figuring out what to write because the episode was so Audrey-centric. And I completely agree with you–I think they put that whole family thing in there to balance out her crazy inside the house. Otherwise, she would have left on such a negative tone.

I was so happy that Jackie won. I’m just nervous that Vanessa will run her HoH, but hopefully she’ll stand her ground and target someone in the Sixth Sense. The underdogs need to stand up and fight! I think Steve’s time may be coming to an end. Apparently he’s still so in awe of being in the house that he’s not focused on game play, unfortunately.

  3. Great review, Rebecca. Thanks for adding your predictions for the week.

I like Austin. I was surprised about his voting. I hope this doesn’t blow up in his face. Vanessa is like a true detective. She might sniff it out. Austin already drew suspicion for a comp throw, right.

I’m digging the strategy stuff. You’re right, Van is good early fav to make it super far.

    • Thank you! I’m glad you liked it.

I liked Austin, until he became super creepy over Liz. Like, Caleb style creepy. Apparently his main goal is to get to the jury house with Liz but not Julia, so he’s not even playing the game for the money anymore. I have the feeling he’s going to self destruct very soon, if the others don’t get rid of him first.

  4. For some reason, I can’t reply to you, Dan, so I’ll just put it here and hope you’ll get it. lol. Yes, the twins are “nice”, but enough to throw away $500,000? That’s some kind of crazy. Especially since he apparently has a girlfriend at home.
