Sunday Sessions – Live Lounge

The Live Lounge is a segment on BBC Radio that features an artist possibly doing an interview and then singing a couple of songs, one of which is usually a cover.  It has been around for many years now and to say that those cover songs are the most popular feature of the show would be the truth.  Sometimes the artists might play it safe, but most often, no matter who is on, the results are usually quite brilliant.  What is a bit of a shame is the recent announcement that the BBC are going to be cutting back on in-studio performances, among other things, due to budget cuts.  Currently, the broadcaster is a world leader in presenting music to the masses and now this will most likely change.  Quite a sad day.  So you will still see people on the Live Lounge for instance, just not as often.  Check out some of the performances for an example of what the show is all about.
