Not too much happens in this issue. There is a lot of fighting, and a lot of banter between Luthor and Batman over who is going to lead their little conglomerate of villains and heroes, but not much else. This issue seems to suffer from the ‘pad out the series’ syndrome. Sure, there is a sort of notable death and the ending, the big threat that destroyed the alternate Earth, is straight out of Star Trek: Generations, which is quite hilarious. Technically, the issue was written well and drawn superbly by Johns and Finch, but it could have been folded into another issue to make this a six issue mini instead of seven. The best part of the whole book was Sinestro. He is always entertaining, a joy to read and is the real highlight in this book.
