Before the book really gets into it, there are a few things of note that happens, the first of which is the return of Hourman to the team full time and with a costume that mirrors his father’s in the best of ways. The second is the return of Northwind who has been gone for quite some time at this point, he too with a new costume and now full of information and a dire warning, one which comes too late. At the moment, half of the team is on their way to Egypt with a Dr. Rock and unknowingly to them, she is the enemy of which Northwind talks about. So it is that Northwind and the other half of the team head off after them, picking up Jade along the way who has just started work on a new movie. Roy Thomas and company then cut to Lyta who at this moment is a prisoner of the Silver Scarab. Part of her believes that Hector Hall is still a part of the Scarab, somewhere down deep but he makes it absolutely clear to her through violence and the threat of death that he is not the husband she once knew, that Hector is in fact gone and never coming back. Emotions of varying degrees run through Lyta, she wonders about her baby and if it even lives after that kick she received from the Scarab in the last issue and thoughts of her current situation are ever-present. The last half of the book is far more interesting than that of the first but it too gives readers a bit to chew on and it is good to see Northwind return to the fold. One has to know that he is going to play a part in whatever it is that comes due to his complicated relationship with Hector Hall. While it has always been fractious at best, it is one of those things that make reading the next issue a must, especially given Fury who is also to play a major part, perhaps even more so than Northwind. As for the team which is currently split at the moment, they are sure to come back together and do what they do best though they might have been smart to bring Solomon Grundy along for a little extra muscle.
